Builder Note

Jim Collins writes about the “Hedgehog Concept” in Good to Great, focusing on what you can be the best in the world at.

I used that methodology when I built RollSearch to search your photos by file name. It focuses on solving that one specific problem.

Photos are your most personal data, so privacy is incredibly important. That is why the app is 100% on-device, and absolutely no data is sent to any server.

I focused on only the essence and carved out anything that wasn’t needed.

By combining these concepts, I was able to build fast, get to the market, and keep iterating.
